Exciting news for Southern and Eastern Africa subscribers on DSTV! M-Net has a lineup up of local content for its market in Angola, Tanzania , Zambia and Zimbabwe etc. Catch up with what's coming up in the next few months.

Tanzania, expect fantastic entertainment and news from the exclusive channel; Maisha Magic Bongo (DStv Channel 160).

Angola be prepared for DStv Premium base called Jango Luxo from the 11th of October as well as the international smash hit reality show The Voice!

“M-Net’s vision is to create channels for eachhomgeonous target market for Southern and Eastern Africa – be it by language, culture, taste or a combination thereof,” said M-Net Regional Director: East and Southern Africa & Lusophone countries, Theo Erasmus at the just completed local content channels roundtable discussion at the MultiChoice Content Showcase.

Other local content to expect from Maisha Magic Channel will be:

 Local Drama series; Talaaka

Bongo music show; Mzooka

Celebrity Cooking Show; Jikoni na Marion

Zambezi Magic Channel 160 also promises:

For Zimbabwe, a talk show called Tonight With Zororo.

For Zambia, a lifestyle magazine entertainment show called Kumwesu

And for Botswana, a comedy sketch show; Situations.

M-Net Regional Director: West Africa, Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu said that Africa Magic would be building on the Original Movies project which the channel started in 2013, by commissioning Africa Magic Blockbusters to create local films that are fit for theatrical release, as well as broadcast on DStv. “What that project is also going to do is allow for more job creation in the content delivery value chain,” she said. Mba-Uzoukwu also said that from 1 October, the channel would be introducing a ‘Ghana block’ to the Africa Magic World channel. “That will be run as a 4-hour prime time content block – we will begin to create local content for that block and see how the market reacts to it.”

It was a general cry from most journalists for M-Net to be broadcasting other African content aside that of Nigeria and South Africa. I couldn't agree more.

Check out the official photographer and his shooting skills during the press conference. Bam!
