How To Support Victims of The Akosombo Dam Spillage through the citi fm foundation.
In the past week, the picturesque landscape surrounding the Akosombo Dam in Ghana transformed into a scene of devastation. The dam, a symbol of progress and power generation, unleashed its pent-up force as the waters spilled over, wreaking havoc on the lives of many. The spillage, spearheaded by the Volta River Authority commenced on September 15, 2023. This was conducted due to the inundation of the dam by heavy rains to maintain the integrity of the dam. Homes have been lost, properties damaged, and countless lives disrupted in the wake of this unfortunate event. More than 12,000 people have been displaced.

Meanwhile, politicians like Former President Mahama have been to the devastated area to assess the situation and commiserate with the victims. The President will be visiting the area today as well.
