TikTok Influencers Stacey & Joaquin Loper (ThatLoperLady) Share Their Marriage Story & Winning As A Blended Family.

TikTok is a rabbit hole which once you are in can lead you to amazing or not-so amazing content. When you sign up for a TikTok account, you might be led to believe that it’s one for today’s generation infatuated with trending dance moves.

That’s where you are wrong. It’s a free for all platform where even Grandparents are racking in high engagement and Generation X’ers are building up huge following with wholesome content. It’s very addictive! TikTok is what Vine aspired to be.

One such wholesome account is that of ThatLoperLady . I consider myself not lucky but blessed for chancing it in my #ForYou page. Stacey & Joaquin Loper are a married couple bringing laughs into our hearts and homes with puns, corny jokes usually told by Stacey to her husband Joaquin and their daughters. Once in awhile Joaquin surprises Stacey with his own jokes. And we have all fallen in love with how she vibes with her husband and his trademark response to her rib-cracking jokes, “ Stacey, get out!'“ 🤣. This one especially has gone viral on Twitter after I posted it.

I reached out to Stacey for a blog interview so they share their story because I know definitely they have a great one to tell and how amazing that they responded!

Naa: How long have you been on Tiktok?

Stacey: I started TikTok on April 2, 2020.

( The account current is at 800K+ followers 7M likes as at June 6th 2020)

Naa: Why did you sign up?

Stacey: For two months, my daughters kept begging me to do tiktoks and to make an account so they could tag me when I participated in their videos. So once COVID-19 required me to work from home, I was getting a little bored between virtual meetings that I decided to see what all the hype was about. The rest is History .

Naa: When and why did you decide to upload jokes you share with your husband?

Stacey: When I finally convinced my husband to do a tiktok with me, it was so much fun and I found myself just being so full of joy. I had no ulterior motive or "why" for posting them on tiktok, the videos were merely a true capture of the joy and love I share with my husband. Doing the tiktoks and being able to be who I truly am as a woman of God, a wife and a mother, showed me that I don't always have to take myself so serious. I can be a successful career woman and still be who and what God has specifically designed me to be.

Naa: How did your husband feel about sharing your lives on tiktok?

Stacey: He was up for it. He loves having fun and he enjoyed seeing me loosen up for a change. Never in our wildest dreams did either of us expect to have such a magnitude of impact.

Naa: What's your marriage story?

Stacey: Which One ?????? . This is my 3rd marriage

It's definitely one with peaks and valleys. Sprinkled with joy, peace, growth, inspiration, compromise and A LOT of communication, laughter and sex. I was a single mother in Grad school, recently divorced with two daughters when I met my husband who is 4 years younger than me. He was a single young man, never married with no children; living his best life. He saw me on campus one day and the rest is history.

My husband and I will both agree, He was nothing I wanted, but was everything I needed and vice versa. We know now, that our relationship, union, and now marriage was ordained by God so that we could live a purpose filled life showing other people what a Godly, happy, healthy, marriage looks like.

Naa: I know we see a lot of laughter from you guys but I'm sure you have your moments of conflicts. How do you get through such times?

Stacey: Oh Honey, there is some Heated Fellowship in this marriage .  Naa, believe it or not, we talk and laugh through it. We found the best practice for our marriage is over communicating so we get clarity and understanding. We found this to be key for conflict resolution in our home. Another way we get through those tough times is, we still get counseling. Whether we're having a tough time understanding the others' perspective or we just need a tune up, but we're in a good space, we still see someone to help us walk through those times.

Naa: What's your favorite thing about your Husband / wife. ( Both of you respond)

Joaquin: What I love about my wife is her resilience and her ability to make me better in so many aspects of my life and our marriage.

Stacey: What I love about my husband is his ability to be vulnerable with me and how he can be my soft place when I just need a listening ear or a shoulder to cry on.

Naa: What marriage tips can you share to anyone getting married in 2020?

Stacey: RUN. . . . .Literally, RUN, from marriage, if you aren't willing to grow, compromise, submit, love (in spite of), listen, forgive and be humble, But, if you are ready for those things, heal from any brokenness/pain that you have endured in your past that may bring about strife in your marriage. Seek individual and couples counseling before and during the marriage.

Naa: What food would you cook for your wife if she was in a bad mood?

Joaquin: Baked Salmon and Shrimp with Jasmine Rice topped with a sweet garlic butter sauce.

Naa: Describe your marriage relationship using three words.

To+Get+Her = Together.

We both give 100%. It's not half and half, it's ALL of us and nothing less. A marriage takes two people who are willing to love selflessly. It's a pursuit, Naa, to be consistent in finding love and happiness with the one God made just for YOU!

What inspiration! It takes two to make a marriage work and communication and laughter is a remedy which can’t be compromised on. Life is short and we must live, laugh and love.
The couple are also marriage counsellors and share more about having a blended family via their website http://www.blendedandwinning.com . Follow them on Instagram here.
