At Coco Lounge, All-Day Breakfast That's Good For The Soul | Restaurant Review

The menu for All-Day Breakfast is a simple one pager listing a Full English Breakfast, Tortilla's, Breakfast Pizza, Huevos Rancheros, Waakye, etc. Yes, you read that right. There's Waakye at Coco Lounge for the expat/tourist who's a bit shy/scared/unsure of buying roadside waakye like how we the locals do. But I wasn't here for the waakye. A Full English Breakfast if you please. Make that two.

Easy-To-Make: Cashew Green Salad Recipe

I whipped up a Cashew Green salad in a matter of 20 minutes which went brilliantly went with slices of toasted brown bread. The magic was actually in the vinaigrette I used. It is super easy and healthier to make your own vinaigrette. I am having trust issues with some imported products into this country.

There are various ways to fortify a simple green salad for added nutrients. My go-to extra-nutrients are to add nuts, some healthy meats or fruits to it. Works every time.

Spices In Ghana You Probably Haven't Heard of Before..Till Today.

I have realized how little we use some local spices in our cooking. We are gradually forgetting the traditional spices and choosing cubed seasoning which many at times are packed with MSG and other preservatives which aren’t kind to our health.

I went exploring in a spice market which is deep within the 31st December Women’s Market in Mokola Market to discover what other traditional spices we have aside ginger and pepper. What are their English names? What health benefits can we get from using these spices in our cooking? Do they have medicinal properties?

Discover Mauritius - The People, The Food & More

There are some countries you will see on the internet and you cant help but wonder if its possible for you to go there. For me it’s been for a long time Mauritius and Maldives followed by the rest.  There’s something about seeing white sands and blue oceans surrounding tiny land mass of gorgeous resorts. It calls out to me. So when the golden ticket opportunity came up, I snatched it up like it was the last grain of Jollof on my dinner plate. Thank you Multichoice for my golden ticket. I used it well.

Street photography brings out the candid moments and reflects the regular lives of people as they go about life. It gives a glimpse into the lives of every culture in any country. Whether it’s a person riding on a bicyle whilst texting or a little girl getting her braids done each moment captured on a smartphone or dslr tells a deep visual story.

Shooting street photography in Accra is not much different from doing same in some cities. it is not an exactly photo friendly city in all honest opinion. The city has a lot of history but less artsy locations, events and monuments to shoot at. If not for annual art festivals like #ChaleWote2015 there’s little going on in the city with regards to festivals and large outdoor events.

Did you know that no matter where you travel to beyond the shores of the former Gold Coast,  you need to carry your yellow card with you before getting to the Kotoka International Airport? It doesn’t matter if you are going to UK or China. Having travelled just a few months ago in September without this card, I was the least amused to see this new procedure in place. Here is how I know.

The Must-See Men's Street Style At The New York Fashion Week

The Lincoln Center was flooded with fashion bloggers, freelance photographers, personal stylists and fashion peacocks all looking to photograph or to be photographed, to pin or be pinned. Its easy to focus one's lens on the women fashion and forget the men street style on display as well. And boy were they dressed to the fashion nines! The men had something important to say in all kinds of blazers, fedora hats, ankle pants (trousers), lapel pins and it went on and on! Their style ranged from laid-back casual to personal gothic. I got to speak to a few of the Gentry on their wear and naturally captured their looks as well. Enjoy the fashion eye candy.
