Accra to experience family entertainment on a whole new level.

Accra is a city which is very limited on permanent spaces for outdoor fun areas, playgrounds, entertainment community centers, game centers and even open air cinemas. Aside Legon Botanical Gardens I struggle to think of a family centered space within the city that provides an all-inclusive entertainment package for each family member. We shall not mention Afua Sutherland Park in this conversation. Of course there are frequent one or two day organized events for families to attend every quarter or so but with respect to permanent spaces that's extremely uncommon.

Recently, I chanced upon a tweet which shared a post about an upcoming family entertainment center and I was intrigued to say the least. A bowling alley? That sounds exciting! I couldn't wait to hear more.

Then finally this morning Kojo Akoto-Boateng tweeted out photos of the opening for the family focused Bliss Family Entertainment center at the Aviation Center.

Wall-climbing, Bowling, Zip line, Gauntlet Slides the whole shibang…this looks exciting!!!

Bowling alley

This center looks like it's about to let every adult become a kid again!

My word! This Olympic trampoline looks ready for me 😄.

This slide is giving me Blippi vibes 🤣🤣🤣.

Now this Soccer trampoline looks super fun for soccer 2 and 5 aside lovers 🙌🏾. The kids will be in heaven and the parents as well! I wish Harbin had survived..sigh 😔..

Read more about the activities on the Bliss Family Entertainment website.

I was curious about the pricing. On Twitter several people were griping about the high cost for the activities.

A thirty minutes on the trampoline is GHC 100?? Ei! 😅 Without food? 🤣🤣🤣 Dead 💀.

I saw the above screenshot shared on Twitter. However when I visited the packages page on the website it had been taken down. A possible review from the Twitter backlash? Maybe.

This entertainment center must cost an arm and a lung to setup no doubt. But looking at the current economic crisis in the country hmm this would be a tough sell unless of course the center is targeting the 1% rich Ghanaians. I'm looking forward seeing how much they would charge for the toddler activities.

I love the idea in it’s totality. A place to propose to your girlfriend whilst wall climbing together, a fun space to celebrate your birthday, a safe space for your kids to have fun and workout at the same time and also for the inner child in you even in your 50’s.

The centre is opening this coming weekend May 1st! The parking there will be insane so just uber yourselves there :D
