Ghanaian Chidren's Book Author Bernard K. Mensah Celebrates Diversity In His Upcoming Comic Book Launch.

Personally i grew up around Archie comics, Marvel & DC comics. I would always be excited when we had to go visit my cousins who always had the latest comics thanks to their well-travelled parents. The stories were extremely well crafted and humorous , beautiful lettering and the graphics so captivating and colourful ! But these were stories of a Western culture & imagination so i truly appreciate and find it wildly exciting for the launch of a Ghanaian & African culture representative comic book for kids.

Bernard K. Mensah is a Ghanaian children’s book author with several beautifully written & illustrated books for early readers and young adults.

He’s doing a great job at increasing representation in children’s literature and his latest project just goes to show how far this journey is headed! Yawa The Adventurer is an upcoming comic book series featuring a smart, young, black girl called Yawa who jets off to Accra after receiving a mysterious phone call concerning her scientist Dad.

The comic series will be available in English, Twi and French with other Ghanaian and African languages to come in the near future.
With such beautiful clean illustrations, the comic book will not only tell an adventurous story but will highlight Ghanaian historical facts, cultural symbols which have been cleverly moulded into the heart of the series.
