Maa be, an art exhibition of trash to art.

Plastic and various kinds of human and industrial waste materials are plaguing our earth and something needs to be done urgently. One of the ways we can protect the earth is using sustainable means of reusing and recycling some of these waste materials like plastic, paper and glass and we can see these happening around us already.

The Maa be ( your mother is not Home) which is in reference to the state of Ghana’s vegetation and water bodies, is an upcoming sustainable art exhibition by Priscilla K. Agyeman, Creative Lead at Korlekuor and Essilfie Banton The Artist. The exhibition seeks to draw the attention oft he viewer to the degradation of Ghana’s vegetation and water bodies from various forms of pollution (galamsey, water pollution and plastic waste). The exhibition will use different mediums such as glass, glass beads, nespresso capsules, plastic waste, and recycled fabric to visually depict the future of our landscape if action is not taken now.

The exhibition is taking place at the Marina Mall 17th December at 6pm. It’s free to attend!

Kor.le.Kuor is a sustainable fashion and home accessories brand which makes jewellery and decor products from recycled glass mainly. We source our raw materials (glass) from our customers. This helps the customers reduce the amount of glass waste in their homes and our landfills whilst helping preserve our bead industry.

Essilfie Banton is a Ghanaian artist who uses everyday waste materials and transforms them into artistic masterpieces which focuses on prominent personalities. A closer look at his work and one might think ‘ oh this is Borla’ but from a distance one sees his brilliant work of art.

Be a part of this exhibition and be inspired on how we can save our earth through art.
